Any advice now that the SEO Plug In has updated and looks quite different?
Do we need to add the Google Analytic code again?

Hi Derek – is this the All in One SEO plugin? If so, I’ve just had a look (and upgraded ours!), and it doesn’t seem to require you to re-place your Google Analytic code – but you can if you wish I guess. I honestly don’t know the answer at this stage, but my advice would be to try things out and see what happens! Not much help perhaps – maybe some one else knows more than I do at the moment….?

    Hi
What drives the current “out of the box” SEO, as it seems to be doing a good job at the moment?

I’ll just have a little peek in your site, Andy, and check what you’re running. Watch this space…

    Hi Andy,

Wow, you’re getting really good search ranking results! WordPress is very search engine friendly, and the iChurch 4.0 theme particularly so. You’re also running the Google XML Sitemap plugin, which reports back to Google about changes to your site, which helps. You’re keeping active on your site, which tells the search engines that it’s likely to be interesting, too. If you want to improve your SEO, what I’d recommend next is that you install the ‘All in One SEO’ plugin, which is the one Derek’s referring to above (I think!), and that you start tagging your content with keywords. I’ve posted some content about improving your SEO here – http://forumurc.org.uk/faqs/ and here – http://forumurc.org.uk/support-forum/hot-tips-group5/tips-and-discoveries-forum17/seo-thread25/ – plus I will pin interesting things that I read on the subject to our Pinterest ‘Church Websites’ board, which you can find here – http://pinterest.com/wmerecentre/church-websites/. I love this stuff, I think it’s really interesting – and look forward to hearing your thoughts, please…..?! 🙂
